Could be a worm in the GI tract. 

or he hates the roommate's fabric softener.

My old kitty, Squeaky, used to use his bed as a peeing place, and I 
quickly learned that he viewed any pile of laundry or blankets 
as "place to pee." A couple of times, my bed became a peeing place. 

Did you know cats can fly when given enough force and/or fright?

Vet said he had a condition, and after four years, I figured out the 
condition was "pissy." He just liked to pee.
