No more absurd than any other criterion that people use to sort
themselves for socializing. Some people are uncomfortable dating others
who are significantly taller or shorter than they are, and tall women
in particular are known to have difficulty finding dates of compatible
stature. I'm 6'5" and some years ago I went out a couple of times with
a 6-footer who, it turned out, was also preliminarily dating a man
she'd met through one of these Tall Clubs. She chose Tall Club Guy over
me and I made a mental note that the Tall Club might be an avenue for
me in the future, but I never pursued it.
