She wants what she THINKS is best for me, because it would be best 
for her if she were in my situation.  She doesn't bother to ask what 
I think would be best for me, or even what I actually want, 
regardless of whether it's "best for me" or not.  My mom has no 
concept of what it's like to be self-sufficient, to make her own 
decisions, to not have to get a seond opinion, to not have to worry 
about what someone else thinks.  She has a 1950's mindset, absolutely.
