I just got around to reading the update. The quiche remark seems to indicate that you don't have to consume it there? You can take it with you? Oliver loves bacon and this would be cheaper than dog treats.
The guys who used to work behind the counter at Comet, the former deli/liquor store in adams morgan, would give Oliver a few pieces of bacon every time we came in. He still tries to drag me in there even though it's now a shoe store. Then when he gets inside, all he wants to know is what are all these shoes doing here where has the bacon gone. I keep trying to explain, but it just hasn't gotten through to him yet. I'm sure this place would quickly become one of his favorites. In fact, we'll be in Phila over Thanksgiving. How far is it from center city??? Maybe we'll have to make a run over the weekend instead of, say, going to the Flyers game, which was the original plan, but just seems like torture at this point. I could get enough to at least keep him happy on the ride home. Me too.

The way it works is: 39 cents an ounce up to a certain weight, and
anything over 6.99 is "all you can eat," unlimited return trips.
I may have the per ounce weight wrong... but it is ridiculously cheap
and I usually get a half dozen strips of bacon, a piece of french toast,
a little bit of scrambled eggs, an english muffin and whatever fresh
fruit is in season for under four bucks. And no tip.
