Follow-up Comment #3, bug #9526 (project wesnoth):

Ok I just explain myself here. I restored the option because:
It's a strongly debated issue with various points of view, the fact that a
coder take the time to implement the option is also a result/proof of this.

There is the problem for people living in different hemisphere, people who
wants that the sun move in the ToD window like it does when they look by
their house's window, and others use some front = north convention or if "i
see sun it's mean that i look south", etc... (see forums for all these
opinions)

And if we do remove the option, before we must decide which direction is the
good one (but i don't think that there is such perfect choice) since it will
force everybody to uses the same.

So I temporary restored the option, because it seems to me that just decide
alone in 20 minutes to remove it, was maybe a sort of lack of respect for the
opinions and time of all these people cited above. And the code refactoring
reason was invalid. (No offense ESR, I appreciate your effectiveness with
this refactoring, but it's precisely why I think we sometimes must slow you a
little ;) )

Of course, we can remove it later if we have a good consensus about it. But I
continue to think that since it's very cheap (just a checkbox) and if let's
say 30% people really like using it, without any impact for the others, we
need a good reason to remove it.
