I had the same problem, as I have reported on the forum two days ago.
For me, 1.0.0/standalone/MacOSX_x86 had the splash-screen appear, then
nothing.
For 1.0.2/standalone/MacOSX_x86, like Velensk describes, nothing, nothing at
all appears.
My Java version is:
java version "1.5.0_26"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build
1.5.0_26-b03-376-9M3263)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_26-156, mixed mode, sharing)
There is no `/tmp/wesnoth_plugin' directory at all. (Indeed, and not only
from a "Finder perspective"; I originally come from Linux, so am fine with
terminal), so I can't attach any logs.
Neither any output on `stdout' (that's best read with Console on MacOS).
Maybe logs could be written (in the Mac version) to `~/Library/Logs/' or
`~/Library/Caches/Wesnoth_UMC/logs/', a more standard location for Mac?
