Even with an optimal algorithm, i don't see how the results could always be player predictable (with the current rules)

Imagine 2 wounded units "A" and "B" in a North-to-South line. Adjacent to both on the left there is a shaman, Adjacent to both on the right is a MoL. The Mol is also adjacent to anther wounded unit. So the optimum healing (total HP gained) involves the shaman giving 4 HP to A or B and the MoL giving 8 HP to the other wounded units. Who can predict weather A or B will be healed by the Shaman, and thus get only 4 HP?

About the max-flow algorithm for perfect distribution: I found out how to code it and could do it very fast now. I just delayed it for Xan's changes to the abilities and then some exams. Unfortunately, the day after the last exam my filesystem got trashed and I decided to buy a new computer. That one is nearly configured right now (I'm writing the mail from it) and I could start to code it. Doesn't make much sense if we switch to a much simpler algorithm
though...
