Mog already replied to that. I added a version which should work but
needs some more optimizations. These optimizations will be postponed to
post 1.3.2 and probably first done in the terrain-layer branch.
Also the changes in trunk haven't been tested to work with the new
system, it works with the current terrain system.

Like I said before I'd like to see it in 1.3.2 to get feedback on the
issue. If we want to keep it, it will cost quite some development effort
and art effort. Not sure whether there are volunteers for both parts.

I don't care too much about the issue so if somebody wants the change
reverted, feel free to do so.

The MP problem might be still there, but thusfar I've seen no info on
how to reproduce it. (I don't play MP so I can't say how bad it is.)
