Okay, so what is the current status, which plans do you have? Are there any more
features you do want to implement or can I freeze everything? I will at least
wait one more week until I do freeze things. In this time you can either send a
mail, write a forum pm or ping me in irc to tell me to wait a little longer, if
possible with an estimate of how much time you need. From the freeze (freeze =
no new/changed string and features) on it will take at least 6 weeks until the
release of 1.4 and I would like to have it out in the middle of march. So I
would really like to start the feature and string freeze in one week, if that is
possible.

To give you some idea of the rest of the timeline:
* once the freeze starts translators do have four weeks to work on translations
and report spelling mistakes.
* once this four weeks are over, the spelling and grammer fixes (and only those)
will be applied. At this time I would like to start with the first rc. Maybe
this can happen at FOSDEM, we will see...
* right after those known spelling fixes are done, translators do have at least
two weeks until 1.4 final is out. Those two weeks are the time for use to a)
squash more bugs and b) write up some nice announcement. I'd say that we should
at least wait three or four days between tagging/branching off 1.4 (yes, we will
only branch with the final release) and announcing that release.

Once the feature/string freeze is started, only important bugfixes can delay the
shedule. If you have any important stuff and plans that should allow the delay of
1.4, please do add it in that list:

It would be nice to have some general plans on which bugs you want to work and
such in there, too, though it is not needed, if you keep track of that stuff in
the bugtracker.

Any feedback on this is welcome, especially if you have things that should make
me wait a little longer with the freeze.

Cheers,
Nils Kneuper aka Ivanovic
