All,
I’m looking for a way to monitor mySQL with WUG. I have found a
few mentions of it in some forums and newsgroups but they seem to be directly
pulling a web page that is local to the same server and letting it query the
dbase and return a result. I have a WUG server on a totally different machine
and a totally different router and ip block that does my monitoring. Is it possible
for WUG to query the mySQL dbase and via tcp and get the expect result from a
table that is setup to return the same result all the time. And if it is will It be able to read the result and give a determination of
weather the mySQL is up or down. All I can do now is monitor the server via
ICMP and tell if the server is live but not the mySQL service. There is a
mention of monitoring MSSQL on the IPSWITCH.COM website but it also gives no
details. Could someone point me in the right direction on this.
