no worries everybody fully understands that, if I am not totally wrong our 
chieftain is very busy as well at the moment.

It was just an option to wait for the gather materials option as you said you 
don't like to have an objective which is not "relevant". For me it is not 
necessary to wait for the objective it could be there just until fulfilled. But 
on the other hand I think it would make sense to trigger the expand east 
objective only if there is enough material gathered to allow for a fast 
expansion. 
so for now my sugggestion is to trigger the "gather material" objective (maybe 
in a seperate function)- check for lack of rations - if there are no rations 
left trigger "food economy 1" - run through the objectives until 
"recruit_soldiers" is done - check if objective to gather has been solved - 
continue with expand east
