To be honest, We don't need these daily. They simply don't provide enough granularity to be useful on a daily basis. Even weekly might be overkill.
Slow the crons down and save Wikia some CPU cycles. I rather see those cycles up front on a Squid! ;) If you still really want these stats that much, I suggest setting up a new slave with a low synch speed. (Obviously it won't matter if this slave is a few minutes/hours behind) Slow the cron down to a weekly or bi-weekly run, instead of daily. Heck.. (en) Wikipedia hasn't been able to successfully complete a stats-run in months! Anyone who uses these stats for anything half-way important... should probably reconsider.
