I disagree -- it should be possible to perform proactive oversight. The argument about deletion-selective undeletion is, I think, somewhat specious. It would have been impossible to log those events without a new functionality that does the whole action at once -- which is what RevisionDelete is. The need for the delete-undelete method has been obviated by the superior RevisionDelete system; my argument is that that system can be further improved by the provision of a separate log.
