Hi Leo, Among the many and varied means of kindling, stimulating and sustaining the cultural identity, the following may be considered efficacious.
In the context of OER/ODL , the pedagogical templates, icons, design, colours and inspirational ideas can be culture-centric. Suitable and well known quotes can be added to heighten the effect. The national flag, birds/animals, symbols, colours, sounds/music and musical instruments do reflect the ICH(intangible cultural heritage) of a given nation. These can be incorporated to stimulate the cultural sensibility of the learners and teachers as well. At the same time, human identity ought to be understood as having two levels namely the local circle with its centre as being human - the citizen and the global circle with its centre as the global citizen whose inclusive awareness is capable of identifying with any culture which upholds human dignity. In the latter case the circle has no circumference.
