I totally agree with Amir here. I would add that the issue of low responses to Wikimedia-l, Telegram, Discord or Meta is not about people not having ideas: is about those that should implement the ideas they should be hearing.
The last years have been a continuous risk-management communication process by those who should advance in our project, trying to explain why they were going in the opposite direction. We are getting older, and if discussions are dismissed, or even silenced, people are not going to spend their time on that, and younger members won't know that they can, indeed, discuss. Because, what's the point of this discussion if there's no one with real power to take notes and propose actions? ________________________________ From: Amir E. I do think that getting people together in a physical space to generate ideas can be better. The number of those meetings in 2019 was quite possibly excessive, however. They will be contradictory and will require some effort to select something useful. For this selection, one would need indeed a small committee or staff or may be both. It must be a committee of *Wikimedians*, trusted by the wider *Wikimedians* community, and without significant differences of privileges between committee members and other community members. It must not be a committee of external consultants. At least not too many of them. In 2019, there were definitely too many. To implement these ideas is a totally different story. I guess here is where you need people to be paid to work on. Of course, that's what I mean when I say that Wikimedians need money (and perhaps other resources) to get what they need implemented.
