We as a movement have tons of ideas. A lack of ideas has never been our problem. For example there is a group of us pushing for innovation around video, but there has been plenty of pushback and hesitancy from many corners. For example we built the ability to allow MP4 upload on Commons, we developed universal consensus on Commons to allow MP4 upload, and now the WMF appears to be dragging their feet with respect to concerns in part that our technical infrastructure cannot handle MORE contributors. And this despite our claim to be the central infrastructure of the open internet. Meh.
With respect to engagement of "trustees of any Wikimedia organizations", I am here, Galder is here, among others. Christophe did you mean the WMF? With respect to outside consultants, I agree they are generally not helpful as it takes SOO long to get them up to speed. I have some of the same concerns regarding turn over of top level management within movement organizations. We are a complicated and unique movement that takes a long time to figure out.
