The temporary loss of your wireless connection may cause this. Have you noticed a popup in your tray stating that you have lost your connection and/or one that states you have established a wireless connection?
Nope, not at all. I thought of that, so I had checked.
If you have XP SP2 it can notify you when connectivity is lost:
Network Connections, right-click on the adapter providing connectivity,
Properties, check the option "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity."
Also, did the wireless provider give you some sort of modem, and if so,
do you have access to its setup screen? There may be a setting to
prevent it from going to sleep when idling.
