Nope, not it. It came back when I deliberately loaded a pdf, but it doesn't seem to be doing any harm.

I think I do have something running in the background, and I'm trying to figure out what it might be. That's surely what it seems like. I ran virus and spyware checks, but they found nothing. I saw a process that I don't recognize called wisptis.exe. That seems to be a legitimate file but one whose name is sometimes hijacked for nefarious purposes. I don't think there were legitimate reasons for it being on, and I found it in the prefetch directory, which isn't where it's supposed to be...

I've taken it off, and will see what happens now.

I'm not using Norton IS, and I haven't changed my zone alarm, which has been working fine. DOn't have any parental controls, etc. I wonder if that file was a baddy -- acrobat reader uses one of that name, but I hadn't been using Acr. Reader.

Oh, well, we'll see. Thanks for the commentary. I'll report.

This would be my question too. I wonder if there is a firewall setting that doesn't
like certain sites. Do you happen to be using Norton Internet Security (or
something like this) with parental or some other controls activated? What happens if you visit the same site with something like www.sneakysurf.com - same problem?
