Of course.... If the video board has a hardware mpeg encoder..... That's the reason I use the Hauppauge PVR card in my Mythtv machine http://www.mythtv.org http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_pvr150.html Realtime hardware encoding. It takes in whatever signal you have and outputs mpeg video. Doesn't really help if you are transcoding from one format to another. -- Harondel J.
