I hope this isn't out of line for discussion on the list.

I currently have a Samsung A530 cell phone through Verizon it's about
three years old, I imagine. I also have an LG of the same vintage.

I connect (with the Samsung) to the internet via a cable connected to my
Laptop.

We are planning on upgrading our two phones to a couple Samsung
- SCH 950s.

It seems there is a question as to whether the new VCAST phones will
connect in the same manner. Also, it seems that the Verizon sales
people, even the ones who try to be helpful, don't know much about the
product they are selling.

I was just told by a sales rep that the tech support folks would say you
can't connect that way any more, but that he knew folks who were.

I'm not interested in the new WIFI and all that. I just want to be able to
connect to the internet and check my mail when RVing, which we plan
to do a lot.

Does anyone have Verizon and any of their new phones who is
connecting to the internet the way I want?

I do know that Verizon restricts the phones as much as possible in order
to sell more features. Business is business, I guess. I'd do the same.

Point is: I'd rather keep my little Samsung if I can't connect to the
internet with the new ones......and I don't mean news, sports and music
while viewing the phone screen.

I know some of you folks have all the newest most technical toys, so,
maybe someone can help me out. It will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jim
