When I opened the message, I found that Wayne Johnson had written:

That site is down right now.
And I have no ideas why they use whatever they use. I barely know
how to turn the phone one and dial <smile>.
Tech said they don't make the Mobile Office kits for those two phones
BECAUSE of certain copyright infringements that may result.
However, the LG 6100.......is a different matter. It isn't a VCAST
model.
So, here's my thinking: They make a kit for the 6100 but not the 8100.
However the kit will work with the 8100, but they won't be responsible.
Now, if you are absolutely correct, then that idea wouldn't hold water.
He also told me the software (to get the phone to recognize Verizon)
was pretty much generic and to first try to connect with my laptop
with the software that is already installed.
As to the packets or suitcases or whatever, I know nothing of them. But
that was never mentioned by Verizon as to why they didn't make the kit
for the LG8100 and the SAMSUNG950. I'd prefer the 8100 hands
down.
What did that site say about the LG6100, Wayne? I'll access it when it's
back up. They're doing maintenance.....maybe changing "everything"!
Who knows? Maybe none of the phones will connect now <smile>.

Yes, that's a big plus, but it is an 80 mile drive........each way.....if I
pick
it up from a Verizon Store.
If we were full-time RVers, I'd go for the whole ball of wax, but to
check email while we are on the road, it isn't necessary.
