Well, a chevron is a kind of arrow. Google on 'chevron symbol' for a selection. It's roots are in mathematical symbols, I believe. It's often used in trademarks such as for Citroen cars. The use is Office is mentioned here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dncdev00/html/vc00i1.asp
FWIW, it's gone in Office 2007... but so are most menus too. ;-) Can't suggest what you search for as far as the other things you want to know about, as I don't know what you are looking for! ;-) ____________________________________ Neil Atwood - Sydney, Australia http://westserve.org/ - Blog, Christianity and Tech Stuff. http://ministrygrounds.net - A blog about selecting, roasting and drinking fine coffee -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pete Holsberg Sent: Wednesday, 1 March 2006 10:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Terminology Question Neil Atwood wrote: > It's a 'chevron' I looked at Firefox and IE, and they call it an arrow.
