Hi folks
Just a quick update on the SATA Saga of last week.
Recap-- can't connect SATA to sata-0 or sata-1 but will work on raid sata-0 & 1.
gigabyte say it's a MAXTOR problem. MAXTOR say it's a gigabyte chipset driver
- quote "well lets
say that they do work most of the time but the code isn't that efficient or
tidy and they are not
that good".
The firmware for my Hdd is the latest (latest is not always the best) and the
code on the drive is
V111xxxxxxxxx V111 denotes the firmware 'apparently'
Not going anywhere with this so I have left it connected to SATA raid -0 and
set the jumper on the
Hdd to 1.5Mb/Sec instead of 3Mb/Sec.
Running like greased lightening - as it should (AMD 64 3400+ 1Gb dual channel
RAM)
Temp of CPU is around 40 deg C +/- 5deg. Is this Ok? Stock CPU HS+fan. 480W
PWR with 2 x fans auto
speed controlled.
