Yes I agree.! I bought a load of fans just for that very job ! I often
fit a fan to the chip if the temperature on test, gets to around 40C
even if it didn't have one in the first place.
Its surprising how many times that chip gives problems if it gets too
hot !
I often wonder it it is an 'actual' chip problem or one caused by the
solder ball grid array that it sits on ! The extra cooling preventing
connection problems in the soldered joints ! If that it is the case,
then its going to get worse because of the new RHOS legislation with
regard to removing lead from the manufacturing process !
