Does the MB have a Northbridge chipset fan? (Or the video card?)
Those little fans have been a "known problem" for me, even if they "seem"
to be running at full speed.
What is the age (and model) of the MB?

Asus P4P800 SE motherboard. It may be going South. Its 2 case fan power pins quit delivering fan power several months ago. If you remember I wrote in about the USB ports going South on one of these same model motherboards a couple of months ago. The whole board finally died. Perhaps if one part of this model board dies, it is only a matter of time before the rest of it dies.

I found no place in the BIOS to turn on or off the case fan power to these 2 pins. On at least 2 occasions the parallel port got turned off in the BIOS and I had to turn it back on so my parallel port printer would work.

My ATI video card has only a heatsink. I have replaced 2 power supplies along with 2 motherboards for 2 customers upon finding a partially frozen video card fan. I fully agree. Toss the video card when its fan freezes up or partially freezes up and hope you catch it before it takes out a motherboard and power supply. I concluded that the video card burned out and in the process drew so much power the power supply burned out. The only thing a video card with a frozen or partially frozen fan will fit is a trash can, in my opinion.
