Hard lockups as you describe are generally not related to software problems.

Run this memory test in extended test mode for 24 hours or longer.

Subject: A7N8X-E Deluxe

Hi

Got the A7N8X-E Deluxe mb installed and used my XP Pro Slipstreamed
disk to
reinstall, and registered and validated with ms without major problems.
It has been
running for about a week and slowly restoring my data and applications.

Everything works fine except for a very irritating problem in
that "sometimes" (3 times in a week)it hangs, the mouse does
not move, C-A-D does not work and I must do hard reboot
(holding the on/off switch for 5 seconds). It starts fine,
like first start of the day, no errors reported.

The first time it happened when I was getting a coffee
and found a black screen, the next time clicking on the
back button in mozilla, the third time clicking on an email.

I have done the usual virus, spyware checks, defrag ran in under 5
minutes and
there is 29 GB free on a 37 GB partition on a 120GB Maxtor HD.

Would like to run sfc and need to know which disk to use, the original
xp disk
or the Slipstreamed disk?

Thank You Joe Harrison
