Wireless networking has only one STANDARD at present and that is 54g (54Mbs)

There are devices out there that will run @ 108Mbs but it isn't a STANDARD. Now
depending on the quality and compatibility of the units in question the
performance of them can differ.

My laptop is now 18 months old and it was using a Belkin 54g card that will run
@ 108 and the school techie got a Linksys wireless router for our office but set
it up for 54Mbs because it IS the STANDARD.

The whole school is being wired for wireless networking and we all are getting
new laptops for registers, email, reports etc. but it is only going to be 54Mbs
but capable of 108 when it is a STANDARD.

You probably don't have a problem or a real problem - just pretend you don't
know and if it works keep calm if it don't - fix it.
