A) Yes I'll be disapointed because you've seen the same asymmetric uplink vs. downlink performance? Or B) Yes I'll be disappointed because the performance boost isn't what you thought it would be?
FWIW Speedboost != "108Mbps" != Wireless N Apples != Oranges != Grapes Carl -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wayne Johnson Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 7:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: OT: Wireless survey - upload speeds with 108Mbps technology At 11:57 AM 8/9/2006, Carl Houseman typed: >I'm ready to buy about 5 >wireless PCI NICs and if the Netgear or D-Link PCI NICs have the same upload >throttle that I've seen with their PC cards, it's going to be a big >disappointment. Too bad as it works great if your laptops has more than 256meg but mine with Dell L400 just has 256meg. It barely worked & that was only because I loaded only the driver & supt files & not the stupid Linksys app. I returned it & got a plain jane WRT54g without SpeedBoost. The darned things don't work well enough to justify the increased cost, imho. FWIW it's JMHO & YMMV but probably not. ;-) -- ---------------------------------------- The WIN-HOME mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software.
