What "agent shortcut"? I'm really confused. Someone [you, I think]
suggested that the way to get the system to start using Agent instead of
Outlook for email was to go to IE>InternetOptions>Programs and select
'Agent' for the email program. That was fine, only you can't [as far as
I could see] put in a *command* [_or_ a shortcut or the like] into that
field -- that field was just a dropdown. The list *did* include Agent,
and when I selected that one, the system *IS* now trying to use Agent as
its default email client.

So that part is OK. The problem is that at least with Agent 1.93 it gets
its "config" info from the directory it is started in. The 'default
mailer' stuff appears only to start the program in its install directory.
So I'm guessing that unless I want to copy one of my Agent configs onto
C: into the Agent install directory [which I don't much] I probably
*can't* use Agent as my system-default-email client.. alas...
