With Agent 3 you can have a single instance that handles all the Usenet
servers you care to tell it about. Or you can leave things as they are
and have a separate instance for each server, with a shortcut to start
each one, with the "Start in" set appropriately. You can mix and match
these approaches to any extent.
That said, it looks like the drop-down list in IE's Internet
Options|Programs page just doesn't do what you need to start a specific
instance of Agent. I guess it's getting the programs from a list in the
registry someplace, therefore shortcuts aren't involved and there's no
way to specify a "Start in" directory. Just something the IE folks
didn't anticipate.
I guess that if you had a single instance of Agent 3, "Start in"
wouldn't matter any more.
