Interestingly the name (Ground-Fault) is a bit misleading. GFI
circuit breakers compare the [electric current flow of the hot
conductor] to the [electric current flow of the neutral
conductor], and trip if there is a difference (determined by
the trip level) between the two conductors. IOW the current
going out [hot] has to equal the current coming back [neutral].
Otherwise current is being lost through a path to ground that
is not acceptable (a Ground-Fault).

I think I remember the first Ground-Fault Interrupting (GFI)
circuit breakers were designed to trip at 7MA. That number is
probably lower now. I know my fish probably appreciate mine.
Our water feature trips out every time we have heavy dew.
