Interesting... I just updated Spybot and the much longer Trojan list is a welcome improvement.
Regarding immunization, Spybot's only blocks ActiveX programs and cookies. And that's correct for an anti-spyware program. I would prefer file signature checks to only be done by the AV realtime scanner, and I would prefer my AV to have a comprehensive database of such signatures including adware, spyware, and trojans... On my wish-list the next version's TeaTimer: . Monitor more registry locations for autostarting program insertion. E.g. Appinit_DLLs, etc. . Fix the paging behavior (notice the number of page faults accumulated if you're running it?) . Fix the prompt so all of the buttons are visible... Even Windows Defender didn't sound off when I created an Appinit_DLLs value... despicable. The 10/13 updates include trojan defs. Also for Spybot to be effective, the system has to be "immunized" after updating the defs. -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
