Thanks, Pete. I hadn't thought of that. But when I tried it the voice still
happens. Maybe it isn't FF at all -- but then what could it be? It only
happens when FF starts, safe mode or not. I also tried disabling all my
extensions, and that doesn't help either. Even when I take out the .wav
file it turns up again a couple of days later.
Actually, now that I think of it, I just have a new batch of MS updates,
and after a period of blessed silence the problem has started again. Could
they have anything to do with it? How would a MS update be activated when
Firefox starts???
Default FF doesn't do that, Eve. Try starting FF in its safe mode.
