Try running the Internet Connection Wizard in windows. You can find it
by going to Start | Progams | Accessories | Communincations | Internet
Connection Wizard (depending on your version of windows).
Run this program and tell it you want to set up your connection
manually via a LAN, and that should get IE up and running.
