I attempted to do this over the weekend, without any luck. The major
problem was with arch/i386/mm/mkivmem.c, which is completely incompatible
with the way 2.4 handles memory and processes. After fiddling with it for
a couple of hours, I gave up and went back to a heavily patched 2.2.18
kernel (ide, raid, lfs, bttv, reiserfs, etc...)

A web query to Netraverse support sent last week about a timeline for
kernel 2.4 support produced no response.
