First, let me say that I can appreciate that companies don't always know
when they will have a particular feature, and I would rather have them say
they don't know than to give a bogus date that the development team hasn't
committed to. But then, development and maintenance of commercial
software for Linux is how I earn my living!
Still, considering that the next release of RedHat will be based on a 2.4
kernel (it is presently in public beta), and other distributors will soon
follow suit and/or offer 2.4 upgrades to current sytems, I think
Netraverse *should* make 2.4 support a high-priority. Certainly higher
than DirectX or SMB networking support!
I would even be willing to test a beta-quality patch.
Finally, from the put-up-or-shut-up department, if there is no patch
available in the next couple of weeks, I will probably attempt to port it
to 2.4 on my own again. I would work on it this weekend, but I've got new
hardware coming (dual 1Ghz P-III, raid 5, etc... but now I'm gloating!).
