Hmmm, I tried unlinking /etc/X11/X from the XFree86 (4.0) binary
and relinking to the 3.3.6 SVGA executable, and now it works.
The only oddity is that when I was running quicken, it seemed
confused about what line I was on (in the register).  Hard to
see how that's XFree's fault though, since if it was corrupting
the screen, it would look garbaged, and it doesn't.
