The surefire way to install and run win4lin is build your own kernel
(patched with win4lin patch) first, then install. Along those lines,
maybe netraverse should make a nice gui-based kernel building wizart that
scans your hardware to build a basic list of required kernel components,
asks you if you want to compile them as externel components, adds in the
win4lin patch, compiles, installs, and sets lilo. Seriously, this type of
program could stand on it's own and would be quite useful. The make
xconfig gui for kernel building is pretty decent, but not for newbies.
Off topic, but relavent, how about a wizard that can not only detect new
hardware, but can also fetch the proper driver code from some database if
needed, and actually build a module right there that can be inserted into
the running kernel.
