Well its bad for the reasons I'm experiencing.  All you have to do is
upgrade your kenel with a kernel patch and suddenly you're unable to use
your software.

Ximian and a few other Gnome packages have the same problem.  They want
very specific libraries, and thus invalidate themselves by being
non-compatible.  Evolution in action.
