I'm not running a custom kernel nor have I rebuilt the kernel although I
*have* upgraded to the latest version of the kernel using the "up2date"
utility. If this isn't considered "stock" well ok, but it gets right back
to what I was saying before ... all you have to do is upgrade to the
latest kernel available from RedHat or any other vendor and suddenly you
can't run Win4Lin.

And remember that the version 17 kernel *is* on the Win4Lin site (I
modified the installer script to download the version 17 kernel) but still
refuses to install even though it matches my kernel version. This is
disturbing. The web site clearly let's you sign up for the version 17
kernel, but it refuses to install after downloading.

Win4Lin should be built to use libraries and kernels of a certain version
*and up*, but never specific versions of the kernel. Unless of course the
kernel trap APIs are changing in which case we're all doomed for sure.
