I've bought V1.0 just to get the free upgrade for 2.0, since it was
promised that the v2.0 will solve problems with Eastern Europe support.
After getting license for 2.0, I took me almost two months to properly
install Win4Lin on my box, since it does not check whether the Win9x files
are properly copied from the CD media, while doing Personal Copy Install.
Finally I got a MO drive and copied all the files on the MO disk and
install from it.
Then I've found out that Win4Lin cannot setup codepage for Croatia,
complaining that the codepage is not the same as on the system, although I
have latin2 encoding on my whole system.
I don't want to mention that whle I was trying to make soem use of
Win4Lin, I was running SuSE 7.0 which wasn't supported for quite some
time.
In the meantime, I've upgraded my computer to SuSE 7.1, and again,
although the distro is out long enough, there is no support for 2.2.18
kernel, besides orignal kernel source, in which case I have problem, since
I have ReiserFS partitions.
My question is: Do you intend to support SuSE distribution in the future
in time, since the present situation is that you're always too late?
What will be with the Eastern Europe support in 3.0?
I don't complain if I have to pay something for the upgrade for 3.0, but I
expect to have software which is running according to my needs.
For now, I didn't have much out of Win4Lin, despite its promises.
Sincerely,
Sasa Janiska
