I'll second that request. I am a hardware design engineer. Right now,
Win4Lin is invaluable for me to do spreadsheets and documentation on
my Linux/Unix desktop. I would dearly love to be able to run PCB and
FPGA design tools there as well (instead of relying on a second PC.)
These tools actually run fine (very fast and stable) on Win4Lin already,
as far as I've been able to test them. But, pushing any real design
through them requires 128MB-512MB. I have plenty of RAM if I could
just get Win4Lin to use more than 64MB.
2.4 kernel support would be nice, but frankly I see no other real reason
to upgrade right now beyond large RAM support. Win4Lin 2.0 is solid,
runs IE5/Excel/FrameMaker for days without crashing, and has very
acceptable performance.
[ FYI, I bought a retail boxed copy of Win4Lin. What is the upgrade
policy for this product? ]
John.
