I used win4lin 1.x and 2.x under Debian on a P233 MMX laptop with 128M RAM. I'd
definitely recommend the 128M RAM if you're going to do much else at the same time.
I now run win4lin 3, currently with kernel 2.4.4 on a new laptop but also under
Debian. I have had fewer problems installing 3.0 than I did with 2.0, although
there are a couple of (documented) procedures to follow if you have any problems.
It is unfortunate that Netraverse dropped support for .deb packaging - Debian seems
to be something of a sleeper in terms of use, I guess because very few people buy it
- in our office we have maybe 30 PCs running Debian, around 10 are personal
developer workstations, but we always install straight off the internet.
Good luck!
Andrew.
