I much prefer the uncontrolled intersections, especially
in my neighborhood, so that we don't have the extra noise and fumes from cars
and trucks completely stopping and starting. But I will admit they belong
in times past when people didn't expect so much government
control of behavior.
If, before more of our streets are rebuilt, we could
incorporate traffic calming features into residential areas, the consequences of
driver negligence at uncontrolled intersections would be much less
severe.
