Another true story about the Wal-Mart empire and their total lack of any reluctance to run roughshod over any one and anything they want to.
The talented singer/songwriter Cheryl Crow has a song on one of her earlier albums entitled "Love Is a Good Thing". (Who can argue that, right?) In the song she sings a line about kids killing each other "with a gun they got at the Wal-Mart discount store".
Well, the fine folks at Wal-Mart who apparently aren't too keen on things like free speech, demanded of Ms Crow and her record label that she change the words to that song or they would pull her CD's. To her credit Ms Crow stood fast and refused to change her song lyrics and from that point on Wal-Mart refuses to carry her music in their stores.
Not as earthshaking as their horrific treatment of third-world sweatshop workers, but a telling example of the Wal-Mart philosophy and arrogance nonetheless
