I have been reading with much interest
about Wal-Mart moving to Winona. We do not shop there as much as we do
Target, buy Wal Mart carries some things that we cannot find at other
stores. I have no problem with Wal mart not being a "union store".
Even though I worked in a "union" store for many years. Remember
Randall's? Their demise was caused by the union. Remember the strike
of 1985? The reason we were on strike was because of differences between
the union president and Mr. Randall. Nine months of being on strike and
Randall's was never the same. There are good things that unions do, one is
my monthly pension. But I do feel unions have put many businesses out of
business.
As for shopping in Winona, I do, except
for clothes. I am a plus size woman and there is no place in Winona that
carries my size, so I go out of town or internet or catalog order.
