I've been reading all these
comments about Wal Mart and the danger they are to the small local
businesses. I fail to see what Wal Mart will bring as competition that
Target, Shopko, Big K, Fleet Farm, Hy-Vee and/or Menards have not already
brought. If the small local business is open now maybe Wal Mart will
attract more people to shop in Winona and there will be spill over business
locally. I would be more worried if I was Target, Shopko or Big
K!
In La Crosse, where they are building 2 Super Wal
Marts the local grocer has been to other towns to see how the competition is
surviving and he found out they are thriving in niches where Wal Mart
fails.
Maybe with some creativity Wal Mart could be a good
thing to those who are so afraid.
