Jerome and anyone else
Walmart affects us because of the corporate money
behind them, they have all the buying power. Good for consumer, bad for
retailer . Small retailers cannot afford to
buy say 20, 000
worth of frames and sell them among four
stores. Small retailers buy for their store only. Who has 20 grand
to compete? It is the big buying power that these stores can do and sell
for just over cost that KILLS the little guy. It isn't fair because the
little guy has to pay rent on his retail space, the Walmart
doesn't. The little guy has to have money to pay the NSP bill,
Walmart has corporate funding to do so. The Walmart eyeglass guys are just a convenience, but they do
it to keep your dollars with them. The little guy has overhead and
employees to think about. Corporate offices pay the eye guy at
Walmart. The warehouses offer deals at large amounts the smaller
retailer has to think about investing in. They money doesnt come from here
and does not end up here. It works the same for many different
items...
