[Winona Online Democracy] Gerry,
I respect the difficult decisions you have to make. I will readily admit there are both disadvantages and advantages to Wal Mart. Wal Mart is not the source of all evil in the universe. Wal Mart has good people working for it. I will respect the decision of the City Council, whatever it is, as long as there was a real, respectful, and fair discussion of the issues in a public forum before the final decision was made. The problem is not your final decision. The problem is the lack of real, respectful, and fair discussion before the decision was made. I realize there may have been some internal discussion among the City Council members about Wal Mart but it was not done in a public forum.
