Aha - OK, using the WMME driver you get 16 bits instead of 24, but when I
select this I now have the option of selecting independent cards for input
and output..

The output sample rate is only 8000 or "LOCK" for some reason. (8000 is OK
for voice/cw of course).

On the input side, it took me some time to remember that the EMU has to be
the WAVE device. Not only that, if the WAVE device is not initially selected
to be displayed as a slider in the Windows recording mixer gizmo, Windows
gives you a "problem" error message which is quite uninfomative.

The other thing you have to do is insert a "send" in the Creative Labs
PatchMix to send the sound to "WAVE L/R HOST" otherwise WinRad gets no
signal.

Now I have a signal and can start playing :-)

I note that when I select ShowOptions/Select Input/Open Input mixer, WinRad
opens the wrong one - it opens the motherboard sound card input control.
This is true even though I have made the EMU (E-DSP wave) the default
recording device and told Windows to "use only default devices". I suppose
WinRad is looking for a line or mic input and not a WAVE device?

I also noticed that the RBW readout is labelled as "Hz" and should be kHz.

Tnx and 73
